Everyone carries their baby. First the mother's body carries the little new soul, later her arms will protect the newborn. When the mother's arms are getting tired you might use a tool to support them. But you keep carrying your baby. Everyone is a babywearer, only the tool we use is different.

Communication and behaviour are very closely linked. TinyTalk Baby Signing Classes and Nursery Training Programme can help in both these areas: significantly increasing communication levels and subsequently helping to reduce behavioural problem levels.
BABIES CAN LEARN TO COMMUNICATE BEFORE THEY CAN SPEAK
Baby signing (or ‘symbolic gesturing’ as it is known academically) is pre-verbal communication (language before speech). Babies understand so much before they can talk! Any good parent or carer can see that their young child is like a sponge, learning all the time. The cogs are whirring, the eyes are sparkling and showing recognition but the muscles required to speak intelligibly (mouth, tongue and vocal cords and the coordination of them) do not develop until 12 to 18 months. However fine motor skills (using the hands in intricate ways) develop from 7 to 9 months. Vocabulary is beginning to be understood (that objects have names and that their names can represent the objects).
Baby sign language can then begin. “Motor development occurs earlier than that of controlling the vocal system which is an advantage for signers” (Sperling et al., 1978). “Babies understand much more than they are able to say. Speaking is difficult. It requires the development of dozens of muscles in the face, mouth, and tongue, and coordination of these muscles with the flow of the breath over the vocal folds in the larynx. From a purely developmental point of view, babies achieve the ability to construct language with their hands at least six to twelve months earlier than they do with their vocal apparatus” (Daniels, 20 1).

What is AP UK Derby Group about?
In fact, what is AP? AP stands for Attachment Parenting. What is Attachment Parenting?
This is a simple question which is easy to answer. It is being a mother who trusts her child.
It does not matter that you are a man or a grandparent or carer. You need to follow your mother instinct which will never let you down, never fail you. This is being an attachment parent. For me.
Why is the group then?
We need sometimes support to find the mother. The people in the group help each other.
We want to satisfy our baby's needs.
My baby wants to be carried. An Attachment Parenting group will help you to find the better solution to be able to carry your baby.
My baby wants to be close to me all day and all night. A group of experienced parents will tell you how it is safe to share your bed with your baby.
My baby wants to wear no nappy any more. AP will give you no-tear solutions.
And this is what Attachment Parenting groups are for. To support each other when we need tools and techniques and take your hand when you decide to take a journey to find the mother in your heart.

Meeting in Déda Cube Café
Meeting in Déda is next Wednesday, 26 Feb at 10 am :)
Déda is in Derby City Centre, Chapel Street. It is very close to the Jury's Inn Hotel. I cannot wait to see you there! Please come along with your little one, we do not ask any fee. You are, though, invited to donate if you think you had a good time with us.
We are going to talk about babywearing again a little bit and more about baby safety in general. I would also like to hear your opinion, experience about breastfeeding on the go and how babywearing can help breastfeeding.
I will bring some of my slings and carriers. You are welcome to bring your favorite one and show it around!
I have a brand new member of my babywearing collection: a special changing bag. I will show you next week!
I hope that everyone can take home something: hope for a new friendship, a piece of information or even a new wrapping technique!

The first meeting
Our first meeting is about Babywearing. I would like to hear you about it. I would like to share my thoughts. I would like to introduse you to babywearing. Let's discuss how to do it, how to start. How to make it safe. Any extra accessories you have - they are welcome to present them. I will also show you my magic mama coat. :)
